More HTC Pyramid specs and pics hit the web, 1.2GHz dual-core & qHD display

The HTC Pyramid has hit the web once again, this time with more rumoured specs and pics on hand. From the pics above we can tell it has shaped up quite closely to the renders that hit the web halfway through this month, minus the Google logo on the back which has since been replaced with HTC. From the comparison of the Pyramid next to the Desire HD, we can already tell this is going to be one big device with big specs to suit.

  • 1.2GHz Dual-core Qualcomm CPU
  • 4.3″ qHD (960×540) Capacitive Display
  • 8MP Rear Camera (720p Recording at least)
  • VGA Front Camera
  • 768MB RAM
  • Android 2.3.2
  • Sense 3.0

I can honestly say that I’m not all that tempted to go for this device, which is expected to hit Telstra, over the Samsung Galaxy S II, but I’d love to hear what you think in the comments.

When? How long till it hits the market? I’m a bit sick of being teased. I need a new phone, but I’m not going to keep waiting for the next big thing and find myself with the same old piece of junk in a years time, still waiting for the newest fancy device.

same, i have been waiting since my last contract expired in dec, SGS2 seems good but with every hour that passes, my mind is on different paths – that and i’m getting rather impatient!

@Buzz, just curious to know why you would rather the SGS2 over this device? Is it just the better specs or something else…. brand loyalty maybe? With a dual-core trickle starting to gain some momentum, it will be intersting to see what everyone else is planning to do. Nothing in the current dual-core announcements have really amazed me… the LG2X would have been a winner if it had not have been for the 512MB ram! For me, going on contract is a given so I need to make 100% sure I’ve got a future-proofed device that will hold my interest… Read more »

Really liking the look and specs of this phone, but lamenting the missing track-pad. Never really saw the point of the track-pad, but lately have found I cannot live without it!

Aside from that…yeah, I’d consider buying this once its released.

It will depend on the time frame whether i get one or not, as well as the cost that telstra launches it at.

My current phone doesn’t come off contract until October, so we’ll have to wait and see if the Atrix launches here before then, because for me, that’s the only real competitor to this phone.

Anon … The Pyramid sounds an awful lot like the soon to be released Evo 3d … I’m just saying 🙂

I’d never heard of the evo 3d, but having just googled it, the specs look impressive, but I don’t like 3D devices at all, so assuming that they’re separate devices, it’ll be a pyramid or atrix for me.

Ok… one last thing Anon … the Evo 3d gives the option to use as 2d or 3d … I’m not too sold on 3d myself, but the rest of the specs do impress

I can’t say I really fall in for the 3D hype either but it would be good to have those specs (either HTC Evo3d or LG Optimus 3D). I’m sure there will be an option to turn 3D off anyway so you could always go down that track.

If only the SE Experia play was a dual-core Tegra2 with 1gb+ ram, 8MP camera and 16GB internal space….. #itsfuntodream
