Galaxy Nexus rooted before even being released

We all knew it would happen sooner or later, the only real surprise is that it happened even before it was released, but the Galaxy Nexus has been rooted. Paul O’Brien, the founder of MoDaCo tweeted that they have put together Superboot which is a boot.img for your Nexus that when booted will root your device the first time you boot. For full instructions head on over to the source link for the r1-galaxynexus-superboot.zip and instructions, or just save the link for when you actually receive your Galaxy Nexus.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
