Comparison: Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 vs Galaxy Tab 10.1

Now that Samsung has an updated version of their Galaxy Tab 10.1, we thought we’d stick the new and the old together in our comparison table, and if we’re correct, there’s very little difference between the two. Currently there’s no confirmation on the CPU / GPU type. See what you think and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Pretty disappointing but wondering if all the law suits had some effect on this.

So they added a Micro SD slot and maybe changed to their own chip.
Why did they bother. The 10.1 note better be something truly special or they may as well just give up. This should NEVER have been released.

Are people forgetting that Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Note 10.1 as well?

Surprised they didn’t just “chuck an Apple” and call this the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1S

Wow thats awful. I can’t believe that they are reproducing a 3+ month old device with no real changes and calling it the successor. Kinda brings the name of both the tab and Samsung down.

Why they dont make simply 3 levels of hardware (for the introductory, middle ground and high end markets) and nothing else.

I won’t recommend this terrible thing over either the Transformer or the Xzoom.

I presume they are still going to announce another tablet with this 2 Ghz dual core we have been hearing about?

Aww man, was really hoping the tab 2 would have a quad core CPU. Are there any quad core tablets coming out that’ll have 3g access via sim card running ics this year or should I bite the bullet and buy a xoom?

I just cant believe they are calling this tab 2. Its such a let down from the market leader.

Apple will continue to mop the floor in tablets this year. (all the other superior android tabs dont seem to get any attention at all)

This new gtab2 10.1 thing is just a rebranded gtab10.1N. should have call it gtab 10.1 plus or something . it is getting spiral out of control with naming at Samsung now.

Expandable memory is what this thing was really lacking so atleast they remedied that! On a side note. I just updated the stores tf101 transformer to ICS so the update is availablr now. It works soooooooomuch faster with ics. Very happy. Cos i have one too

Yeah, ICS is nice on tablets. I have a Motorola Xoom wifi and it is very snappy now. I would like to see more tablet optimization in future updates of the android 4.0 OS.

To me this feels like a 10.1″ version of the revamped 7″ Galaxy Tab 2, rather than an upgraded Galaxy Tab 10.1. That’s also the impression I get from the Engadget story.

Good to see Samsung are sticking to what they do best, with the “get all sorts of versions of particular hardware out there and see if anything sticks” thing all over again.

Why not just have one or even two really great 10.1″ Android tablets, and do them well, rather than these half-baked – far from top of the line – specimens? Where’s Tegra 3 here?

The original 10.1 also sports a Plane to Line Switching (PLS) panel.

What a waste. Why not just put ICS on the original?
