Today I wanted to let you know about aan app that Telstra has released in co-operation with the City of Sydney, the 2012 Sydney New Year’s Eve App that will help you plan out your New Years Eve celebrations in Sydney. The co-operative part is Telstra offering to send up to 50 free text messages which you can pre-load in the app, which will be sent from the app no matter what network you are on.
The app helps you to find the best places to watch the fireworks displays which occur on Sydney Harbour at 9pm and midnight on New Years Eve, you can also enter in a message that could potentially be displayed on the Pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the app also will contain exclusive content and they also promise a BIG surprise that will be revealed at some stage presumably on New Years Eve.
The app is available for devices running Android 2.2 and upwards and is 15MB to download, they have kindly put in the description of the app a fairly comprehensive permissions explanation. Not a bad idea but only really useful if you plan to visit Sydney during New Years Eve, but still you could always watch the fireworks on TV and attempt to get your message displayed on the pylons on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.
