The app today was suggested by Carsten it’s called Sleep Talk Recorder I tried it last night and found I don’t talk in my sleep, but that’s not to say you don’t and you could or your partner could and this app will certainly pick it up.

The app itself recommends it be run whilst your phone is plugged in as it’s essentially running the entire time, when you activate it for the first time you run through a configuration whereby you set the sound levels for the ambient noise in the room and then you run through an actual noise levels you want to record, you can reset these levels via a slider in the settings menu.

The app also contains pre-recorded pieces from other users all over the world and it’s kind of interesting to hear some of the noises and conversations that people have whilst asleep. The app is available for devices on Android 2.1 and upwards and it’s a 2.2MB download. It’s free to download from Google Play but does contain ads but they are fairly unobtrusive. Overall an interesting idea and actually fairly well implemented.

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.

  • Demon Rob.

What sort of ads would a sleep app have? Subliminal messages while you are asleep?

    • http://ausdroid.net/ Daniel Tyson

lol, that’d be scary if subliminal messaging actually worked. But no, they’re just standard ads in the application.
