Daily App Sales Roundup – 07-01-13

I went and saw The Hobbit yesterday so I obviously went and checked what the Play Store had to offer, David has previously covered the game The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle Earth back in November but there is an official Live Wallpaper available to download from Warner Bros.

I’m usually not a fan of live wallpapers and this probably won’t last longer than a day on my phone before it too gets removed due to my concerns about it chewing un-necessary battery life but I’m feeling all Middle-Earthy at the moment so for now it stays. The wallpaper settings offer you four locations from the movie : Bag End, The Misty Mountains, Rivendell or Gollum’s Cave as well as an option to rotate through all the locations. There are animations and touch effects which you can enable or disable and that’s about it, it’s a Live Wallpaper it looks pretty and it’s a bit interesting, give it a go.

The Hobbit Live wallpaper is available for free for devices running Android 2.2 and upwards in the Google Play Store, it is 18MB so it’s fairly hefty for a live wallpaper or even an app for that matter but check it out and see what you think.

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.
