“The dock has a requirement that you have a Nexus 7 Tablet and Charger”
So you’re paying for a piece of angled plastic with a charge port in it?

    • Graham Bae

Yep, doesn’t even come with a charger :(

Fast giving up on Google, if you buy from them you pay courier and GST in AU dollars with a markup for the AU.

When they charge your credit card they do so out of Ireland.
To me this means it is an overseas transaction (and ANZ charges you as much) therefore the GST is not applicable so they again rip you off. What this says to me is that Google is charging AU rates and the GST and pocketing it all for itself.

ATO get onto these guys, either way they are avoiding taxes and not acting in good faith with their customers. Give me my GST back or start billing locally.

Actually it forces you into landscape as the pins are on the side.

      • StuartM

Does it even use the pins? It says in the description it uses the micro USB port for charging…

It means micro usb for the dock itself, tablet will charge with pogo pins.

  • Adrian

got it for $35 at the good guys

Really don’t understand. What is there to a dock? Why wouldn’t you just buy a $10 one off eBay?

  • baz

bought a nice little landscape cradle in ALDI late last year with speakers for 7in tablets, runs on mains or batteries, great unit around $15 :)

I can get a dock with a power adapter for half the price plus shipping and I can get it a day or two later without having to wait 1-2 weeks or however long 1-2 weeks is in Google time. Really Google? Seriously? Big fat fail. Google is getting worse by the day, they couldn’t organise a root in a brothel.

    What a joke! Hillarious!

  • jet

Nope – won’t be buying one of these. how about they focus on delivering the basics like music, instead of over priced rubbish thats released way too late. I hate apples, but i wish google had the same process for releasing products instantly.

$70 for something that should really be the same price as in the US – 30. FFS Google.
