Google Play updated to version 4.4, adds slide out navigation drawer

The lead up to the launch of Android 4.4 has seen a major component of Google’s monetisation of the platform also see an update to version 4.4 – Google Play Store.

An update to Google Play which is rolling out now adds minimal new functions but does bring the app more into line with the other apps in the Google stable of apps by finally introducing the slide-out navigation drawer. The new navigation drawer now makes the Android App look and feel very much like the interface on the web version of Google Play.

Android Police have kindly provided a number of download links to grab an early version of version 4.4.21 of the Google Play APK, but this should roll out to devices shortly if you’re willing to wait.

With the update of Google Play to version 4.4, the release of Android 4.4 can’t be too much further away can it?

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
