Meet the Androids – Core Dump and a Golden Android & news on MEGA Android release

Dead Zebra - Series 4
With the release looming this Saturday morning, the Android previews continue with two more Androids being featured on the Dead Zebra blog. I also asked Dead Zebra about the release date for the upcoming MEGA Androids.

First up, the 9.5″ tall MEGA Android figures that were teased for a release later this year have been pushed back until next year according to Mr Bell, who answered my Twitter enquiry this afternoon :

Onto the Android Series 4 previews, starting with the newest Android mini to be featured today is ‘Core Dump’, this time by the man himself – Andrew Bell. Shown as a half eaten Golden Delicious Apple, the Apple Droid will be available in a ratio of 1/16.
Core Dump

Next up is this metallic Gold Android, which is being offered in a Chrome finish….(i’ll let that sink in for a moment) which will be available in a ratio of 2/16.
Gold

It’s a nice looking finish and I’d love to see the rest of the Google Colours – Blue, Red and Green – show up in a Chrome version in future series.

The release date is of course from 11am PST in the US, which equates to 6am Saturday morning AEDT with a re-supply occuring 12 hours later. A few of the resident Ausdroid staff will definitely be jumping on-board with Series 4 and we’ll surely see a few available for swapping at some stage…on that note, I still have some series 3 Android Mini’s to swap.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
