Recent rumours suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which we reviewed last week, would be getting a few new colours, red and rose gold. Today Samsung has officially announced that not only would the new colours, Merlot Red and Rose Gold White, be coming to the Note 3, but new accent colours would be launching as well.
The Rose Gold White Note 3 will have Rose Gold Black accents and the Jet Black and Classic White will have Rose Gold highlights. This brings the colours of the Note 3 to five, with Jet Black, Classic White, Blush Pink, Rose Gold White and Merlot Red, plus the accented models.
Younghee Lee, Samsung Mobile Executive Vice President of Global Marketing said:
At Samsung Mobile, we understand that consumers view their mobile devices as an extension of their personal style, and Samsung is committed to delivering fresh ways for consumers to express themselves… By introducing these new editions of Galaxy Note 3, we want to provide our fashion-forward consumers with more ways to express their personality and tastes through our technology.
The Rose Gold White Note 3 will be initially launched in China in December, the other colour options will be launched “according to each markets preference”, Samsung says.
In further Note 3 rumours, Samsung may be announcing a Galaxy Note 3 Lite (model SM-N7505) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The MWC takes place in Barcelona on the 24th -27th of February next year. The Note 3 Lite will be a more economical version of the Note 3, with the Note 3’s Super AMOLED display being replaced by an LCD screen, an 8MP camera and probably won’t be sporting the Note 3’s premium leather look back plate. The screen size is believed to be either 5.49″ or 5.7″.
The Note 3 Lite is an interesting rumour, but it remains to be seen how it differentiates itself from the Galaxy Grand 2 and the Galaxy Grand Lite, both being recently announced large Samsung phones with Note 3 design elements.
