Google Play Gift cards begin showing up at more stores

Australian Google Play Gift Cards
Google Play Gift Cards are rolling out to more retailers now, expanding availability to more people. They have now been spotted at Coles as we previously reported, but have now been confirmed at Target, JB Hifi, Australia Post and Officeworks.

At this stage, Google can’t confirm the exact locations they will show up at yet; with the Google Play Gift Card, ‘Where to buy’ page still only listing Woolworths, Woolworths Fuel, Big W and 7eleven as the places to buy them. With this in mind, we’ve gone on the hunt for them ourselves, as well as thanks to Carsten who spotted them at Officeworks in Perth.

Adding more retailers to purchase Google Play Gift Cards at, is obviously great for Google; but it’s even better for us as consumers as retailers begin to compete on price with sales. There will be more places added but where? That is the question.

If you see Google Play Gift Cards anywhere else, we’d love to see pics. You can send them to us on Twitter, via our tips page, shoot us a message on Google+, Facebook or even Instagram. We also want to hear if you see them at a discount.

I’ve been looking for a Google gift card since Xmas – tried Wofiworths, Cole’s, JB HiFi, Officeworks all in Bondi Junction and Penrith and other places – all with no joy what so ever. Is there no where I can get them online?

Good to know. Now I wonder what the chances are of regular sales like iTunes cards? Would be nice to have a buffer in my account.

Ausdroid has reported on how to build that buffer, Glenn.
Google Opinions is now in AU.

I’d really love it if they had $10 value cards. I have a 5 year old daughter and would like to add a few paid apps to her account, however I don’t want to give credit card authorisation (I’ve locked her out of the play-store – but I just don’t want to start in that direction). $5 or $10 dollar cards would be perfect for adding a little credit to her account for specific purchases.
