New Samsung app lets you record your mobile gaming

samsunggamerplus
Recording games on your mobile has never really been as easy to do when compared to recording games on your console or PC, that is until now, With Samsung launching an app that can record your mobile games directly on your mobile.

The app, called Game Recorder+, is a free app offered through Google Play and the Samsung App store. Once started, a ‘floating’ UI is overlaid on top of any game available through the two stores, to enhance gaming experience.

This floating UI doesn’t require any modifications to your phone or tablet, and at first look seems somewhat easy to use. You are able to choose recording options such as resolution and bitrate speed along with Game Recorder+ optimising your phone or tablets memory when the app is running for a smoother gaming experience.

Features the app includes are:

  • Game Recorder+ can record any games up to full HD 1080p resolution.
  • Users can trim the video after recording.
  • Users can use the front-facing camera and built-in microphone to record their commentary over the game audio. Users can also upload a profile photo to disable the front camera when recording. The size of the profile image is adjustable.
  • Touch interactions can be recorded.
  • Users can upload their videos directly to YouTube. For countries with no access to YouTube, such as China, users can save their videos to a gallery and upload them to other platforms.
  • Galaxy S6 and S6 edge users can record noise-free gaming audio, which disables the microphone.
  • Every game can be optimized using “Game Boost,” which maximizes memory usage.
  • Available on smart devices powered by Android 4.1~5.0 (Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop)

There is a down-side to Game Recorder+, with the app only available to Samsung phones at this stage, specifically the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Galaxy S5, Note 4, S4, Note 3 and Note 2 and it’s unclear – but unlikely that the app will be made available to other devices – at least officially.

If you have one of the lucky Samsung Galaxy smartphones and would like to try out Game Recorder+, you can hit the link below to download the app directly from Google Play.
