Telstra has been in the wearable range for some time now, offering devices like the Samsung Gear range, and various Jawbone and Fitbit products. The push towards wearables has increased in the last year and Telstra is now pushing to position themselves as a leader in the space by establishing a dedicated wearables range in their 370 Telstra retail stores across the country.
The wearables range will feature the crème de la crème of the wearables industry from FitBit, Garmin, Jawbone, Samsung, Huawei and Striiv, including the Fitbit Flex, Jawbone Up3, Huawei Talkband B2 and more.
Andrew Volard Device Management Director for Telstra, points to three main features of carrying a dedicated wearables range:
The new range will be available for customers to walk right into a store, pick up all of the devices and try them out – with live units available to try all the features. The range is designed to be platform agnostic as far as the two major mobile platforms are concerned, with devices compatible with both Android and Apple devices.
Telstra is also offering payment options over 12 or 24 months to purchase your wearable of choice if you have an existing Go Mobile Plan.
