Google I/O 2016 Keynote to be live streamed in 360-degree video

Google IO 2016

If you didn’t think VR was going to be a thing at Google I/O 2016, think again. Google’s just announced via the Google Cardboard account on Google+ that they will be live streaming the keynote presentation in the wee hours of Thursday morning (our time) in 360-degree video.

The placeholder for the live video is already up for your bookmarking:

If this works like any other YouTube 360 video, you should also have the option of watching it via Cardboard or any other compatible VR headset. We’re yet to hear Google’s proposal for holding Cardboard up to your head for the 2 hour runtime of the keynote, though.

Ausdroid’s ready for Google I/O! We’ve already speculated on the announcements, and Dan is live on the ground in the USA right now, ready to bring you all the news as it breaks.

Will you be watching the keynote presentation? Will you be watching it in 360 video? Let us know in the comments!
