Google improves location based search reccomendations, USA only for now

Localsearch (1)

Google really wants to make search relevant to both your here and now, and your future planning. One one they do this is by combining your location with their immense database of what other users have done in your location.

Today they announced an enhancement to their recommendations about the best places to eat and drink when you search via the Google app on mobile. In today’s update, they have rolled in more online sources of information about where you are, or where you’re going. A new interface will now so you what the top critics reviews and a list of online lists that restaurants and bars have appeared in.

It’s unclear if we will ever see this is Australia, but we can hope. In the meantime if you’ve got a trip planned for the USA you may be able to take advantage of this.
