Samsung has today launched a new 360-degree video called ‘Train like a Diamond’ featuring players from the Australian Netball team – the Diamonds.
The release is part of Samsung’s Samsung’s Rethink Role Models campaign which they launched in May earlier this year. The video features players from the Diamonds going through their paces in a training session. It’s a timely launch with the Diamonds win over New Zealand last night in test one of the Constellation cup.
Philip Newton, Corporate Vice President & CMO, Samsung said,
Fans of netball will now get to experience how our best female athletes train. We are thrilled to work with the players on offering a first of its kind to the sport, connecting fans with their role models.
The full video can be viewed on YouTube and runs for around 3 minutes, starting with some pre-workout banter in the sheds before moving to the court where the real hard work begins. The 360-degree video can be viewed on desktop or mobile, or of course as a VR experience using the Samsung Gear VR or any compatible Google Cardboard headset.
Samsung will be taking the Train like a Diamond VR experience on the road, featuring it at the Samsung Primary Schools Cup on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October in Ipswich, QLD as well as at the International Fast Five, on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th October at Hisense Arena in Melbourne. If you’re free to get along to those you can check it out there, or just grab a Cardboard headset or your Gear VR and check it out on YouTube.
