Universal Book Reader and Colin McRae Rally are this weeks Google Play Deals of the Week

It’s a little late this week, but Google has finally updated both the Google Play app and game Deals of the week, which this week are Universal Book Reader and Colin McRae Rally – both of which are available for just 20c each.

Google Play App Deal of the Week

on my phone for years and while I mostly use Google Play Books these days, I still like to dabble in other apps and Universal Book Reader looks like it’s right up my alley.

The app is a book reader, it lets you load over 50 formats of eBooks including the usual ePub and PDF formats through a built-in file browser that lets you import a single book, or a whole folder full of either DRM free or protected books.

Universal Books lets you read locally stored books, or you can choose to use Feedbooks.com – what is Feedbooks? It’s actually quite neat, it’s a ‘digital library and cloud publishing service for both public domain and original books’. So you can actually buy books, but also get access to a wide range of books which have fallen into the public domain like the works of Arthur Conan Doyle or Robert Louis Stevenson to name just a couple – everyone should read the classics.

It looks amazingly simple to use too:

At just 20c, this is a great deal for anyone who likes to keep some books on hand to read when you’re bored and with the addition of Feedbooks integration there’s a lot of content both free and paid to be had. Check it out on Google Play.

Google Play Game Deal of the Week

Universal Book Reader

Colin McRae Rally is no stranger to the App and Game Deal of the Week, having last shown up in July last year, but it’s a great game and if you missed it last time here’s your shot to grab it.

You get all the cars and tracks you expect from the classic Playstation version of the game that launched the series, including 30 rally stages across three environments including tracks through the Australian desert, the mountains of Greece or even the twisty roads of Corsica.

All the cars are there from big name rally manufacturers such as Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Lancia Stratos and of course you can drive Colin McRae’s Ford Focus.

It’s just as good as you remember, perhaps more so. If you want to check it out, head over to Google Play and grab it now.

Last weeks deals, Perfectly Clear and _PRISM have reverted to their pre-sale pricing, so if you don’t get in quick you’ll miss out. Head over to Google Play and check out Universal Book Reader and Colin McRae Rally before they end their deals next week.

The Universal Book Reader is an essential app for all. Make reading a habit and your life will not be boring.

I’ve been using the free version of UBR for some time for those occasions where the book I want to read won’t upload to Google Books for me. I like to pay for full versions when I can but $6.50 for an app I only use very occasionally was silly; however, for 20 cents I’ve now salved my conscience.
