Nougat update for the Moto X Style now rolling out for Vodafone users

The Nougat update for the Motorola Moto X Style has finally arrived, with users reporting the update notification now appearing on phones around Australia.

The update has been listed by Vodafone as ‘Testing Completed, report ready for review’, but Ausdroid reader Jonathon reported that he has received the update on his phone this morning. The update, though it is to Nougat is only to Android 7.0, not the more up to date 7.1.1 with security patch from 1st of May 2017.

The update to Nougat brings all the usual goodies which include an improved Doze mode as well as split-screen apps, as well as visual refreshes to the notification shade and quick settings menu.

To check for the update go to Settings > About phone > System updates, but don’t worry if it’s not here right now, it will most likely be rolling out in a staggered rollout.

If you have a Moto X Style, let us know what you think of the update when it arrives – and if you purchased it outright let us know if the update has arrived for you too.

Thanks: Jonathon.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
