Nexus 9 and keyboard cover show up in the wild looking productive

The HTC built Nexus 9 has been shown off in renders all day today, but a Vietnamese site has managed to get their hands on the tablet and the coveted folio keyboard case as well. The photos showed up on Vietnamese forum Techrum, where forum user tdiddy-2 posted a bunch of pictures of the tablet which show it off both in and out of the keyboard case. The keyboard folio case, which will act as a smart cover attaches to the rear of the Nexus 9 using magnets and seems to fit in there quite comfortably. Afixing the case to[Read More...]

Nexus 9 Keyboard case shown off – no availability details available yet

With the launch this morning of the Nexus 9, our minds of course turn to accessories and in particular to the folio keyboard case that was leaked a while back. The Folio case is real and will be coming, but when and for how much isn’t known…yet. The case attaches to the Nexus 9 magnetically and pairs through NFC. The case is powered by a small battery, which Google says will last up to five months between charges, it is of course re-charged by microUSB connection. The Folio Keyboard Case offers a stand as well as the keyboard and measures[Read More...]

OnePlus teaming up with JBL for an announcement tomorrow

OnePlus teaming up with JBL for an announcement tomorrow

OnePlus is slowly building out their range of accessories, recently launching a new set of earphones, but that may not be the end of it. The company who also recently abandoned plans to release a range of interchangeable battery covers due to concerns over the quality and the changing mechanism, is counting down on their Chinese website to a launch tomorrow where they’ll apparently launch something in partnership with speaker experts JBL. Given the involvement of JBL, as well as the animated speaker cone on the website is that some sort of speaker will be announced. The natural assumption is[Read More...]

Plusus comments on production delays for Lifelink and LifeStar cables

Plusus comments on production delays for Lifelink and LifeStar cables

We’re pretty big fans of the concept of the Plusus minimal USB-Charging cable Lifelink announced last year, as well as the ultra-stylish Lifestar cables announced in August. The cables are pretty grand in concept, and once delivered promise to be pretty great, the problem is, most customers are still waiting for the Lifelink and customers who pre-ordered the Lifestar cables were almost immediately advised of production delays. We approached PlusUs for a run-down on what’s causing the issues and what’s being done to ameliorate the effects. Plusus have advised that the issues with the Lifelink was an engineering issue with[Read More...]

Oppo now selling covers on their Australian site

After launching in Australia last month, Oppo mobile is now selling accessories on their Australian website. The accessories are fairly sparse, with only four covers listed for sale – one for each model phone they sell – and there’s little in the way of choice of style for each phone, but they’re there. On offer are an Easy Cover for the Find 7 and Find 7A, although the Find 7A gets a window option, the Find 7 easy cover is available in Blue/White for $29, while the Find 7A Easy Cover comes in Dark Blue, White, Green or Red for[Read More...]

Bose Quiet Comfort 25 — Review

Bose Quiet Comfort 25 — Review

Bose is known as a leading sound brand, usually near the top of the list near companies like Sennheiser, Sony, AKG and Audio Technica. Their approach to products is clear; the best user experience they can give is their goal, the best audio quality is what they expect and (from their own website) “good enough is merely a starting point”. Having been fortunate enough to own some seriously good headphone hardware for a number of years now, I’m not particularly easy to impress with headphones but these headphones impressed me. Hardware There’s only so far any headphone manufacturer can take[Read More...]

Parrot Announce the Parrot Zik 2.0 Headphones

Parrot Announce the Parrot Zik 2.0 Headphones

Here at Ausdroid we have a bit of good natured teasing going on. One of us owns a pair of Parrot Zik headphones, and one of us wishes they did. Why you ask? The reason is that in many reviews of high-end bluetooth headphones the Parrot Zik comes out on top. They sound amazing with an extremely accurate sound that has pure deep base along with seemingly perfect high end as well. They have a touch panel on the exterior of the cans, which allow you to play, pause or skip songs and increase or decrease the volume. In my[Read More...]

Bose Quiet Comfort 25 – First Impressions

Bose Quiet Comfort 25 – First Impressions

The package sitting on my desk when I arrived in the office yesterday morning filled me with excitement, then I opened it and my excitement was justified. I spend pretty much all day in front of a PC, most of it with headphones on listening to music so a “cheap” or low quality set of headphones just doesn’t cut it for me when I’m listening to over 100 hours of music at work every month, plus my listening at home. For a number of years now I’ve been somewhat loyal to Sennheiser headphones, they’re not cheap; they sound great and[Read More...]
