Telstra blitz the field with a 450Mbps LTE network test

Telstra has announced this morning that it has unleashed some of the fastest LTE network speeds seen, revealing that it has conducted a live network test achieving speeds up to 450Mbps. It managed to reach this speed on a mobile device using LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation technology across a combination of the 1800MHz and 2600MHz network bands. Yatango now offering 4G for all customers with 4G compatible phones

Yatango now offering 4G for all customers with 4G compatible phones

After the rumoured launch of 4G on Yatango surfaced last month, Yatango has been emailing their customers to advise the service is now live. The Yatango network of course runs on the Optus network, and the existing 3G coverage will not change. With any new network changes, you are best off checking the coverage maps to see if your normal day to day travel is covered. A 4G phone is of course required to use LTE, so if your phone doesn’t have the correct hardware you’re stuck on the 3G network. But if it’s about time to upgrade, you can[Read More...]

Huawei Ascend G6 coming to Vodafone, Optus and retail stores in June

Huawei Ascend G6 coming to Vodafone, Optus and retail stores in June

Huawei hosted an event in Sydney this morning to announce the Australian launch of the Ascend G6 smartphone, coming to Australian retailers as well as on-contract at Optus from June 2, and Vodafone from June 11. This was a bit of a surprise given the overnight launch of the Asend P7 in Paris (it took a while to realise I wasn’t looking at the P7 once I arrived at the event), but Huawei’s Australian staff were apologetic for the confusion and assured us we’d be seeing the P7 and other products in good time. The Ascend G6 borrows from Huawei’s[Read More...]
