Sony Xperia Z Ultra coming to Optus, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, Sony Stores

Although it's not Sony's newest device, the relatively new Xperia Z Ultra -- a larger Xperia Z -- will be launching here in Australia very, very soon. Sony Mobile confirmed that Optus would be the only carrier to have the device at launch. Telstra now opening pre-orders for the HTC One Mini

Telstra certainly is launching a few more flagship devices, with the HTC One Mini now available for pre-order through the Telstra website. Well it seems Telstra is trying to beat Optus to the pack, with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini now available for pre order through the Telstra website. ACMA announces new SMS Alerts for mobile users

If you've ever over-spent on your data/voice or SMS cap and lived to regret it due to the cost of additional services because you haven't been aware of just how much you were using above your incluions on your plan, then the new initiative which went into effect from yesterday could be your saviour. HTC One Mini to launch on Vodafone and Telstra

Announced by HTC back in July, the HTC One Mini is a pretty hot little phone and HTC has just announced that the phone will be available on Telstra and Vodafone. Telstra is advising on their Exchange blog that they will begin selling the Silver version of the One Mini from the 17th of September on their $60 'Every Day Connect' Plan with an additional $2 handset repayment on top every month. Virgin Mobile has today announced their new Android App - My Account - is available to download from Google Play. Vodafone announces new Red Plans with emphasis on data as well as travel options

Vodafone has today, finally announced the plans that were hinted at at the end of last month when they released sparse details on a new arrangement coming for customers who travel to overseas destinations, which would enable them to add a $5 a day charge to these new plans and allow them to operate in the UK, US and New Zealand. Optus and the software update process.

Last year at Ausdroid we took the opportunity to approach our three major telecommunications companies - Telstra, Vodafone and Optus - about their software update processes. Report: Savvytel back in action

In the midst of the ISPOne chaos last week, it surfaced that MVNO Savvytel was also suffering some difficulties, finding themselves unable to supply customers with recharges.
