White Nexus 4 and Android 4.3 coming 10 June?

Prior to Google I/O there were rumours of a White Whale.. no.. a white Nexus 4. In fact, we've been covering these "White Nexus 4" rumours for months, going back as far as November last year. It seems that this rumour has finally turned out to be correct. The good folk over at Android and Me have, in their hot little hands, that elusive white Nexus 4, and besides a lick of paint, it's the same Nexus 4. There's no LTE (sorry, that rumour is bust for now), and no other changes whatsoever, just that... Continue reading

HTC Butterfly getting Android 4.2, Sense 5.1?

The HTC One seems well-loved by everyone, but we think the world might be a better place if (a) it was rocking the latest build of Android, and (b) Sense 5 would come to other phones, as HTC promised. It seems that HTC might be preparing to deliver on both of these requests, as a build of Sense 5.1 for the HTC Butterfly seems to have appeared in the wild - complete with Android 4.2's quick settings notification pane. How long it... Continue reading

Google Glass to receive software update; gets Google+ notifications

According to Engadget and Phandroid, Google Glass units will soon receive a firmware update that is said to fix a number of bugs and optimisations, as well as two fairly significant changes. Firstly, Glass will only allow applications to upload data in the background when the headset is connected to both a power source and a WiFi network. Apparently there is no explanation for the change, but chances are it has to do with battery life. Google have also updated the battery indicator to be more accurate. A neat trick that Google have added with the update... Continue reading

We're all keen to see what's going to come out of Google I/O next month, and while Key Lime Pie (or Android 5) is something that many of us can't wait to see, it just looks that little bit more unlikely. One of Ausdroid's good friends across the pond, Artem from Android Police, has done a bit of hunting around his server logs and has found a bit of evidence which suggests that perhaps the next version of Android won't be Key Lime Pie, but more likely, a revamped Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Here are Artem's key findings: The... Continue reading
