A mysterious new ASUS tablet has popped up at the FCC overnight, leading to speculation that it could be the new Transformer Pad, reports Engadget. The filing for the tablet, given the model name TF502T, seems to in line with previous Transformer tablets released by the company, though sadly the filing doesn’t go into great detail with the only confirmed parts stating the device will come with 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC at the very least. Reports are coming in, that an update for the Nexus 7 (2013) is beginning to roll out to the new tablet, which is believed to possibly fix the multi-touch issue some people have been reporting with their new tablet device. The update, JSS15R, doesn’t appear to have any user-facing changes, and it’s only one letter away from the last minor update which rolled out shortly after the initial launch back in June which addressed initial multi-touch issues as well as GPS issues. Report: Smartphones outsold Feature phones for the first time in Q2 2013

Gartner have just released a report comparing sales figures for mobile phones, the report shows that for the first time since their inception Smartphones actually outsold feature phones. Worldwide, mobile phone sales grew 3.6 percent year over year, totalling 435 million units sold in Second Quarter of 2013. 225 million of those units were Smartphones, showing that sales were up 46.5 percent from Q2, 2012 and 210 million units of those were feature phones, a decline of 21 percent over the same period. According to a report on GSM arena and VR-Zone, ASUS presented a roadmap of their upcoming devices in France a couple of days ago, which aside from the already announced Nexus 7 and the Memo Pad HD 7 mentions three new previously unheard of devices – the PadFone Mini, MeMO Pad HD 8 and MeMOFone HD 5.
