Samsung US announces which of their devices will receive Kit Kat

Samsung in the US released a list of devices that will receive an update to Android 4.4.2. While they haven't included dates on when the devices will receive the update - beyond reminding owners that the update availability will vary by carrier but that some updates will begin rolling out today. While Kit Kat was designed by Google to run on devices with fairly low hardware requirements, most of the devices listed by Samsung could be described as having almost top of the line hardware. Samsung launches ArtCover service in Australia – and we’ve got two to give away!

Samsung this week opened ArtCover in Australia, a service that allows you to create custom back covers for your Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note II or Galaxy Note 3 handsets from your own artwork (or someone else's, if you're so inclined). Samsung halts rollout of Galaxy S III Android 4.3 update

Samsung has halted rollout of an Android 4.3 upgrade for the Galaxy S III in light of users experiencing issues after installing the update. According to a post on SamMobile, a spokesperson for Samsung Mobile UK made the following statement: “As we are currently investigating the reported issues with Galaxy S3 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the upgrading service has been temporarily suspended. Reports from SamMobile suggest that three of the biggest Samsung devices of the last 18 months will be receiving Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates in a matter of weeks. Telstra confirms Samsung will skip Android 4.2.2 update on Samsung Galaxy Note II in favour of next version of Android

Just a couple of days ago, we saw rumours appear that Samsung was considering skipping the Android 4.2.2 update for the Galaxy Note II and the Samsung Galaxy S III. Rumour: Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III skipping Android 4.2.2

According to an "insider", Temefy is reporting that Samsung are debating whether or not two of their devices are going to get Jellybean 4.2.2 as an official update. The devices in question? A new phone from Samsung, new claims in the Apple patent war

Here we go again: another phone from Samsung brings another claim of patent infringement from Apple. While the issue Apple has with the Galaxy S4 is essentially the same as they had with the Samsung Galaxy S III and only required an amendment to the existing claim, this amasses a total of 5 direct patent infringement notices against the Galaxy S4. CyanogenMod 10.1 Release Candidate now available

CyanogenMod - possibly the most popular third party ROM for Android - has made a release candidate of their newest offering available. CyanogenMod 10.1 is based on Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and is currently said to support just over 40 devices - as you'd expect, this includes mainstream Samsung devices, various Nexus devices, and a handful of devices from other manufacturers.
