Motorola and Google combining to produce an X Phone

A report from the Wall Street Journal has been published which presents evidence from a number of sources that Google and Motorola are collaborating on a 'sophisticated handset' internally code named the X Phone. The new phone which is being developed independently of the hardware manufacturers Droid line which they make for US Carrier Verizon may be followed soon after release by an X Tablet. The phone is supposed to incorporate technology from image and gesture recognition software from a company that Motorola acquired called Viewdle. Motorola Android software update news

Motorola have posted an update on the status of their Android upgrade schedule. Ice Cream Sandwich is the order of the day for the majority of their devices, with only two exceptions. The Motorola RAZR HD Jelly Bean update was only recently rolled out. The RAZR M is listed as moving to Jelly Bean early in 2013. These both closely tie in with the Telstra update schedule we posted a few days ago. The rest of their devices look set to remain on Ice Cream Sandwich. Continue reading

In Telstra's most recent public announcement of software updates, they've informed users for a range of devices that major updates for their devices are expected to be rolled out before the end of this year. The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G "Ice Cream Sandwich" update is expected to see Telstra approval on November 26th, with roll out soon after. Motorola RAZR M — Review

Motorola delivers a solid 4G LTE phone with a 4.3 inch edge-to-edge screen. Motorola’s second release this month, the RAZR M is a 4.3 inch 4G LTE device. In many ways, it’s the RAZR HD’s little brother, using mostly the same internals (CPU, RAM, graphics). Where the HD brought a 4.7 inch display, huge battery and a focus on media, the M brings a smaller 4.3 inch display with minimal bezel and a respectable 2000 mAh battery.
