When the Android L preview was released it scared thousands of owners Nexus 4, 10 and earlier Nexus 7 2012 as the images were only available for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013, however, fear no longer! Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 2012 (wifi) images have all been leaked to the internet. Earlier today, incomplete source code for Android L was released along with an updated image for Android L. The image was build number LPV81 (while the original image was LPV79) and was released onto the Android L preview website. The image link and image itself have[Read More...]

Kogan has a EOFY deal on the Nexus 10 16GB Wi-Fi for $309 plus $33.99 shipping. Okay, so the Nexus 10 is a bit long in the tooth now, but according to what I’ve heard from others it’s still a good 10-inch tablet. Indeed Daniel loves his as he showed when he reviewed the Nexus 10. If you buy on-line now, according to Kogan it leaves the warehouse in 1-2 weeks and comes with Kogan’s own 12 month warranty. It’s not the first time they’ve done this, as they offered the same type of deal back in February this year, perhaps[Read More...]
Google Play ran out of inventory of their WiFi models of the Nexus 7 in both 16GB and 32GB configurations earlier this month, but you were able to still order the Nexus 7 LTE, which included a free shipping offer. It looks like the free shipping offer worked because they too are now out of stock. The three models of the Nexus 7, 16GB/32GB Wifi and LTE as well as the Nexus 10, in both 16GB and 32GB configs are all out of stock. This leaves no Nexus tablets available to purchase from Google Play. What does this mean? Well,[Read More...]
The Android 4.4.4 update caught many by surprise, and while the OTA for Android 4.4.3 still hasn’t hit the Nexus 7 2013 LTE model, it looks like Google isn’t holding back from updating their current flagship phone the Nexus 5. The good folk over at XDA-Developers has captured the Over The Air (OTA) update for the Nexus 5 and it’s now available for you to download and flash to your device. The update will take your Nexus 5 from Android 4.4.3 (KTU84M) to Android 4.4.4 (KTU84P) can be flashed to your phone, but there are no feature updates included in[Read More...]
Just this morning Google has pushed out its next version of Android KitKat 4.4, with a point update to 4.4.4 now available for Nexus devices. Little is known about what’s actually in this update, but the hot tip is that it’s just security fixes and the like, with no major (or known) new user-facing features. The 4.4.4 code hasn’t (from what I can see) hit the AOSP repositories just yet, so it’s not too easy to determine what’s in there. If you’ve got a Nexus device, you’ll probably be prompted with an OTA (over the air) update in the next[Read More...]
Looks like the T-Mobile pages were true – Google has just updated the Nexus Factory Images page with Android 4.4.3 (KTU84M) images for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2012 (both WiFi and GSM), Nexus 7 2013(both WiFi and LTE) and the Nexus 10. There’s still no word on OTA’s being captured as yet to update your device, but if you’re inclined to flash the factory Image, you can now do so. There’s no changelog as yet for Android 4.4.3, but we expect to see one before long.
All the Nexus Accessories!! Google has updated the Devices section of Google Play this morning with more accessories for their line of Nexus devices. The two new additions include a ‘Nexus Charging Accessory’ (read: Charger) and the Nexus 7 Case. The Nexus 7 Case is a stylish looking flip cover, the new case is a much more quality case than the travel cover that was released initially. The new Nexus 7 cover is also an update on the ‘Premium Case’ which Asus sell online in their Australian Accessory store. With its foldable cover, the Nexus 7 cover can act as[Read More...]
Looking for a good deal on a 10″ Android tablet? Kogan is currently sending an email out announcing that they’ve dropped the price on the Nexus 10 to just $309 plus delivery($33.99). It’s WiFi only tablet – there never was an LTE or 3G/HSPA version – but runs a more than full HD (2560×1600) resolution on a 10¨ screen, which combined with the 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Exynos 5250 CPU, 2GB of RAM and dual front facing speakers makes for a beautiful Media player. It runs stock Android 4.2 out of the box, but is still currently listed as supported for[Read More...]
Rumours are circulating today that HTC is working on a “high end” Nexus tablet for release sometime later this year. A report by Focus Taiwan has stated that HTC Corp is said to have won orders for a high-end model in the Google Nexus tablet line that will begin shipping in the third quarter of 2014. We could be seeing a replacement Nexus 10 or, given the timing of previous launches, a replacement for the current 2013 model Nexus 7. This would be a boost for HTC, who manufactured the original Nexus One for Google and helped launch the Nexus[Read More...]
We’re no closer to any sort of announcement of a replacement, but it appears that stock levels on the Nexus 10 – at least in the 32GB storage capacity – are depleting with the 32GB Nexus 10 no longer available for order on the Australian Google Play store. The current stock status of the 32GB Nexus 10 currently advises ‘We are out of stock. Please check back soon‘. Indicating that there may be more stock inbound, but with the Nexus 10 now over 14 months old – released to Google Play on November 14th 2012 – you have to assume[Read More...]
Over a year after its release by Google – and no replacement model in sight – the Nexus 10 is still a go to recommendation for people who are interested in a 10¨ Android tablet and Kogan has just dropped the price on the 16GB Nexus 10 for 24 hours down to $329. There’s a small discrepancy on the Kogan website, with the device currently going into the shopping basket at $329, but it would be worth grabbing it and arguing the $20 difference at a later stage.Kogan have now updated the website and it’s showing as $329, they’re also[Read More...]
