Rumour: HTC to produce a “high-end” Nexus tablet later this year

Rumours are circulating today that HTC is working on a "high end" Nexus tablet for release sometime later this year. A report by Focus Taiwan has stated that HTC Corp is said to have won orders for a high-end model in the Google Nexus tablet line that will begin shipping in the third quarter of 2014. We could be seeing a replacement Nexus 10 or, given the timing of previous launches, a replacement for the current 2013 model Nexus 7. This would be a boost for HTC, who manufactured the original Nexus One for Google and... Continue reading

The 32GB Nexus 10 is now out of stock on Google Play

We're no closer to any sort of announcement of a replacement, but it appears that stock levels on the Nexus 10 - at least in the 32GB storage capacity - are depleting with the 32GB Nexus 10 no longer available for order on the Australian Google Play store. The current stock status of the 32GB Nexus 10 currently advises 'We are out of stock. Please check back soon'. Indicating that there may be more stock inbound, but with the Nexus 10 now over 14 months old - released to Google Play on November 14th 2012 - you have to... Continue reading

Google Pushing out Android 4.4 KitKat Build KRT16S – Minor Bug Fix

It appears that Google is doing some behind the scenes magic, pushing out an OTA update to all Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 owners. Having run this on one of our Nexus 7 (2013)'s just now, we can confirm the update is small -- only 3.4MB for the Nexus 7 (2013) -- so the size for other devices is probably about the same, but we can't be sure. On the post on Android Building, Google advises: The source code for a bugfix build (KRT16S) is being pushed to kitkat-release and will be tagged as android-4.4_r1.2. This... Continue reading

Nexus 10 Rumours: Is there fire where there’s smoke?

There's been a flurry of rumours and renders recently about a new Nexus 10 tablet, as you'd expect at the one year anniversary of the availability of the original Nexus 10 (13 November 2012). Ausdroid has been ignoring much of the speculation and "artist interpretations", because we try to only bring you probable and strong rumours, rather than every render that someone bakes up at home and then tries to pass off as the real deal. Many sites are publishing material that they claim to be leaks of a new Nexus 10 (apparently due to be released on November... Continue reading
