HTC takes on Samsung in snarky tweet, look foolish

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S 5 at Mobile World Congress earlier this morning, and HTC's social media team immediately took to Twitter to cash in on the buzz for Samsung's new device with the (admittedly pretty funny) image above. Nokia pulled a similar trick last year when Apple announced the iPhone 5c, which gave us all a few laughs, but it definitely paid off for them. Nokia's 'Thanks, Apple' tweet amassed a whopping 40,000 retweets and was lauded as one of the... Continue reading

Galaxy S5 shows up in Instagram video in three colours

The Galaxy S5 has under 24 hours until it's expected to make its first official public appearance but that just means that there are units around and keeping them off the radar of just about every tech journalist in the world is almost impossible. Now, an Instagram video has shown up which is intending to show off the just announced Gear 2 but instead shows off three phones in the background that are possibly the un-announced Galaxy S5. The video shows the Gear 2 but it's the Gold, Black and White phones lying face down in the background that mostly... Continue reading

[MWC 2014] Samsung announces Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches running Tizen OS

Samsung has officially kicked off things for Mobile World Congress - and caught a number of us off-guard of a weekend - with the official announcement of the successor to 2013's Galaxy Gear, in two flavours. Samsung's christening the devices Gear 2 and while you might think it's strange that the word "Galaxy" is missing, there's a simple reason why - Samsung's abandoned Android on the watches and instead opted for its own Tizen operating system. The company hasn't stated the reason behind the switch, but has stated that the Gear 2 will support a "numerous" amount... Continue reading
