HTC One XL — Review

HTC has upped its game from the One X to the LTE-enabled One XL and it's worth every cent. The HTC One XL isn't a design we've never seen before; it's the HTC One X with a few tweaks. Well, by "tweaks", we mean some pretty awesome under-the-hood changes. It picks up where the One X left off, but has Continue reading...

HTC says aggressive multitasking on the One X is perfectly normal

If you own a HTC One X and have experience irregular multitasking (ie. apps being killed when you switch to another app) you're not alone. The One X community is up-in-arms at HTC as to why it is happening and if there's a "fix" coming for it. Turns out HTC think it's perfectly normal behaviour, but will look into people's Continue reading...

HTC One X — Review

The same HTC but with a lot more common 'Sense' In 2011 HTC got really excited about releasing their Sensation phone, however in light of what Motorola and Samsung were doing with their Dual-Core offerings in that year, this phone fell short of the calibre of 2011 devices. Despite the Sensation not quite being the beast that it should have, HTC persisted Continue reading...

HTCSense.com closes its cloud-powered doors, gives users 30 days to download their data

We haven't heard much about HTCSense.com ever since it launched back in 2010. HTC never really gave it a push with their latest phones, instead they let it die off -- perhaps for the best. In the statement on the website, they say the website is being 'renovated' to improve their services. Which gives the impression that HTCSense.com might Continue reading...

This is how the menu button will appear on HTC’s new devices

If you were wondering how the menu button would appear on HTC's new range of 'One' series devices, be confused no more. MoDaCo have taken some screenshots that show that the menu button will appear as an on-screen button when the app needs it (ie. a majority of the time). Most of the feedback so far seems to be that Continue reading...

Pocket Now and Slashgear are reporting that the two HTC devices floating around the internet at the moment -- HTC Endeavor and HTC Ville -- are expected to launch at Mobile World Congress as the HTC One X and HTC One S respectively. It makes sense as HTC are no strangers to sticking with a name and then adding variations Continue reading...

Video: HTC Ville gets a quick hands-on, shows off Sense 4.0

Not sure how I missed this one, but there's a video floating around the web of the HTC Ville. It gets shown off quietly for around 3 minutes, and during that time you get a good look at how thin the device actually is, which lines up with the rumours of it being Continue reading...

One of our great writers, Matty Booth, is currently at the HTC Velocity 4G launch event in Sydney checking out the device before it goes on sale tomorrow to consumers. When Telstra were asked about Ice Cream Sandwich for the Velocity 4G, they said that the update is currently in testing and should roll-out to users Continue reading...

HTC Salsa, ChaCha, Desire HD, Sensation from Vodafone all get updated

It seems that HTC are pushing out updates to most, if not all, of their devices in Australia at the moment -- it started with the HTC Incredible S on Optus and now Vodafone have notified us that 4 HTC devices on their network have updates ready and waiting to be installed onto users devices. So if you're Continue reading...

Optus and HTC are today rolling out the Android 2.3.5 update for the HTC Incredible S which bumps Sense UI up to version 3.0 with a few new UI tweaks and performance increases to boot. As always we recommend charging your device up to full (or close to) and downloading the update over a stable Wi-Fi connection. You Continue reading...

Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for HTC Sensation XE leaks out, Sense UI 3.5 alive and well

An Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for the HTC Sensation XE has leaked onto the internet, mroe specifically XDA-Developers where it has been made usable by developers. The ROM is a build of Android 4.0.1 and comes complete with the erratic Sense UI 3.5 that you either love or hate, for me and most of Team Ausdroid it's the latter. Continue reading...

New HTC Ville render hits the web, shows off thin design and capacitive buttons

This new render of the HTC Ville (codename) certainly shows off the thin design that HTC are working on. The Ville is expected to be HTC's thinnest phone to date at below 8mm thick -- in comparison to 8.5mm on the Samsung Galaxy S II, 8.9mm on the Galaxy Nexus, and 9.3mm on the iPhone 4S. Continue reading...
