St George puts banking on your wrist with the Sony Smartwatch 2; Glassware and Android Wear still to come

St George bank has today announced that they're addressing the growing wearables market, announcing that they've updated their St.George Banking App, to work with the Sony Smartwatch 2. The App will now supply account balances and directions to the watch. The new features require three apps installed on your phone for it to work, the Sony Smart Connect app, SmartWatch 2 extension and of course the St.George Mobile Banking App. This will then allow customers to access their account balance at a glance, St George also says that the app will also direct customers to ATMs... Sony launches the Xperia T2 Ultra dual – Available in Australia this week

Sony yesterday announced that they will begin selling the Xperia T2 Ultra dual - the Dual-SIM version of the T2 Ultra - in Australia, with stock of the handset due to begin arriving in stores from the end of the week. Telstra starts rolling out the KitKat Update for the Xperia Z1

Last month we saw Sony starting to roll out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update to the unbranded Xperia Z1, and now it looks as though the carriers are finishing their testing and are starting to roll out the updated version to their customers. Blinky Bill joins Sony PR to help sell their QX Lens-Style cameras

Sony has partnered up with Wild Life Sydney Zoo at Darling Harbour for a bit of a promotion on their QX Lens-Style cameras, enlisting the help of Bruce, Aaron, and Bill - three koalas in residence to help show off the selfie. Rumour: Telstra getting ready to launch the Sony Xperia Z2 on $70 per month Accelerate plan

It looks like Telstra could be about to launch the long-awaited Sony Xperia Z2. The national carrier has apparently accidentally let the cat out of the bag by releasing two online ads naming the handset on their $70 per month Accelerate plans. Sony to offer the upcoming Michael Jackson album ‘XSCAPE’ with Xperia Z2

Yesterday amongst the April Fools news, Epic Records announced that they would be releasing a new Michael Jackson album called 'XSCAPE' which will be filled with unreleased material. Sony has advised via their blog, that they will be making the album available to Xperia Z2 owners. Google mandating that ‘powered by Android’ logo to appear on boot-up screen

Android Central recently noticed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 boot-up screen had one curious addition to the screen, in the form of a somewhat large 'Powered by Android' logo appearing on the bottom of the screen. Sony turning down Android Wear for now

When Google announced its Android Wear SDK last week, everyone seemed to turn to the encumbents in the Smartwatch area - Pebble and Sony, both of whom are on their second hardware iterations of their respective smart watches. Sony begins rolling out Android 4.4 update to Xperia Z Ultra, Z1 and Z1 Compact

Sony has announced via their SonyMobile Blog that they have begun the rollout of Android 4.4 to the Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Compact, but as usual it's only to unlocked devices.
