As teased on Twitter last night, Sony has today announced the Sony Xperia C3 – their ‘Selfie’ phone, with a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera and soft LED Flash. According to Sony, the ‘selfie’ has increased 17,000% since 2012, so the reasoning behind producing a Selfie focused phone is right there. Qualcomm today issued DMCA takedown requests to code repository host GitHub, taking out over 116 different code branches and repositories, alleging that they are infringing on the chipmaker’s copyright. Earlier today Ausdroid was alerted to the DMCA takedown of a number of github (source code) repositories, including at least one belonging to CyanogenMod developers. After showing up first as a mere front panel just two days ago, the Xperia Z3 Compact seems determined to make an early appearance to eager Sony fans around the world. The phone specs have apparently been leaked by Sony Xperia developer DooMLoRD. DooMLoRD has leaked a number of specs for the phone which is apparently carrying the D58XX model number. With the Sony Xperia Z2 launching in a lot of territories only at the beginning of May, it appears that Sony aren’t resting on their laurels, continuing with what appears to be a six month refresh cycle of their flagship phones. Pictures of what is being reported as the front-panel of the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact have been shown off on Chinese site Digi-Wo.
