The update, which not only brings it in line with what is available on the Play Store, With Movies, Games, Apps but Samsung own answer to Google TextBooks, Samsung Learning hub, which does seem to offer a $20 credit for any purchases for new registered users. Vine updated to enable front-facing camera

Taking selfies just got significantly easier, thanks to Vine’s latest update. Twitter’s short video social network added the ability to take videos using the front-facing camera today, along with some ‘performance improvements’. Many Android users were put off initially by Vine’s unbearably long buffering times, which have been getting progressively shorter thanks to the rapidity with which Vine has been updating the Android application since its release to the Play Store earlier this month. Grab the update on your phone through the Play Store, or if you don’t have it installed yet, and you want to, click the link below.[Read More...]

Video Review: USB Audio Recorder Pro

Video Review: USB Audio Recorder Pro

Android’s lack of USB audio support (#5) and high audio latency (#11) have been a couple of the platform’s most griped-about and longest-standing issues, starred by 4482 and 2329 users respectively at the time of writing. USB Audio Recorder Pro is an app that represents a significant step toward addressing these issues, as the developers have written a USB audio driver from scratch in order to bypass Android’s audio system and allow devices to run in USB host mode. In simple language, that means you can use a USB microphone to record audio straight to your phone or tablet (running[Read More...]

Google’s Nexus Youtube channel uploads then immediately removes video

In what seems like a case of someone at Google getting too trigger-happy with the ‘publish’ button, a new ad for the Nexus 7 was uploaded to the Google Nexus Youtube channel, with the cryptic title “130220 WomensTower TypeFix”. The video was immediately pulled, but not before eager fans were able to download and re-host it. Interestingly enough, the video wasn’t completely removed from the channel, but  simply set to ‘unlisted’, meaning that it’s still available to people who have the link. The ad demonstrates the Nexus 7′s versatility in being suitable for use as a chopping board (which is a[Read More...]

Ausdroid Podcast 056 – Nexus 4, HTC and the Ausdroid Foundation – 5/2/2013

Last week was a comparatively quiet week for Australian Android news. We discussed Buzz’s HTC Butterfly review and some app news, though the Nexus 4′s re-emergence on the Google Play Store caused a bit of a standout blip on our radars. Eventually when the thing goes on sale and stays on sale, we’ll probably be able to stop talking about it — maybe. Chris also popped in for a chat about the Ausdroid Foundation and announced our latest competition — donate to the Ausdroid Foundation, and you could win a Nexus 4! You can downloaded the Google+ Hangout video below,[Read More...]
