Australian 4G Spectrum Auction Results

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) yesterday announced the results of the auction for the 700 MHz and 2.5 GHz spectrum bands in Australia. The auction began in May 2012, and ended up seeing Telstra and Optus vying for the coveted 700 MHz band as well as the 2.5 GHz which also went to surprise entrant, TPG. Vodafone unboxes the HTC One

With the HTC One hitting the streets today, Kieran Mcilwain from Vodafone has kindly provided an unboxing video which shows off the phone in all its glory. Vodafone update the HTC One SV to Jellybean starting tomorrow

The Vodafone blog has been updated with news that HTC One SV owners will be excited to see, starting tomorrow HTC will be pushing out an Over The Air(OTA) update to their device which will see it update from Android 4.0.4 to Android 4.1.2(Jellybean). Vodafone confirm Galaxy SII Jellybean Update approved

Vodafone have confirmed in writing to Ausdroid a short time ago that the Jellybean update for the Samsung Galaxy SII has been approved for both the Vodafone and Three network devices and is now awaiting a release schedule from Samsung. While this is certainly good news for those of you still rocking the old Galaxy SII, there is no confirmed timeline for the OTA updates to start pushing out as yet. Australian availability details for the HTC One

We've written a lot about the HTC One - in the weeks since the phone's official Australian launch there's been rumours of overseas launch delays and even frank admissions by HTC staff about their component sourcing issues. Vodafone: Sony Xperia Z launches March 13

Vodafone has today announced that they'll be offering the black version of the Sony Xperia Z to customers instore, online and over the phone from March 13. The phone is available on a range of plans, but Vodafone is recommending the $60 plan, where you'll pay nothing upfront for Sony's new flagship device. This makes Vodafone the first Australian carrier to confirm pricing and availability of the device - we're expecting Telstra and Optus will follow suit with similar dates. Sony Australia now taking pre-orders for the Xperia Z

Sony has just opened up pre-orders for their new flagship phone the Xperia Z. Pre-orders for the phone are being taken via the Sony website and the phone has been listed with a retail price of $749 - excluding delivery costs although Sony advises delivery on a package up to 2KG is only $9.95. Sony hasn't given a date for when the phone will ship but they have advised previously that the phone will launch at some stage during March.
