Telstra might launch the Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500 in October

Time to grind away in the ‘Rumour Mill‘. I’ve received word that Telstra might be launching the Galaxy 5 I5500 in October. For those unsure about the device here are a few specs:

  • 2.8″ TFT Capacitive Display
  • 240×320 Pixels
  • 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth
  • 600MHz CPU
  • 2MP Camera

Video overview from PhoneArena if you hit ‘Read More’.

I wish they would move on from QVGA screens.

I think everyone agrees with you. My guess is that they couldn’t keep the price that low if they were to have used a 320×480 display instead.

Good to see some lower end phones with CAPACITIVE screens!
Anyone know what this is running? 1.6, 2.1?
