Huawei Mobile have today launched the first dual-SIM Android phone in Australia, ‘The Deuce’. The phone features an active dual SIM and dual standby capability, giving you the option to run two numbers simultaneously, a huge plus for people running 2 SIMs, as you can see in the picture above it has the 2 SIMs running in the taskbar actively.

  • MSM7227 600MHz CPU
  • 3.2 inch capacative touch screen, 480×320 @ 180ppi
  • 2Gb of onboard storage with a microSD card slot to add up to 32Gb expansion
  • 3.2MP FF camera with LED flash
  • Bluetooth V2.1 with A2DP, WiFi 802.11b/g/n
  • GPS with A-GPS
  • FM Radio
  • 1500mAh Li-ion
  • 112 x 57 x 12.7mm @ 113gms
  • Android 2.2
  • Update :

  • 3G: 900 / 2100

The Deuce is being sold unlocked through AllPhones, Dick Smith and Harvey Norman for an outright price of $249.

I love the idea of a dual SIM phone, the ability to mix and match SIM cards attached to different plans has great possibilities with the range of plans available, it also offers business users the opportunity to run their work SIM and personal SIM in the phone at the same time.

Pointless IMO.

Multiple Sims for different plans? I remember back in the day when you’d have a prepaid sim for call minutes, and one for messaging, but these days with the amount of unlimited calls/SMS and massive data allowance its unnecessary.

Great idea, but not the phone to do it on, low specs, android 2.2 and it seems looking at the pic that the 2nd sim is 2g only, no dual 3g support.

I would love to see a high end phone (nexus type high) with a dual SIM, would be great for work.

Android 2.2 *sigh*

Low spec phones and tablets coming out of China mean that there’s no foreseeable end to fragmentation.
