Well, you thought yesterday was a pretty lean day for app sales. Today we’ll look at some free apps, starting with the app everyone should have on their phone this week the Google IO App, the app has some interesting stuff in there as I found out, so make sure you give that a good look through.

Sports fans should have two apps on their devices this week/month, firstly the Wimbeldon app which starts this week and runs through to the 8th of July and secondly the Official UEFA EURO 2012 app which I didn’t actually realise was out but EURO 2012 goes till the 1st of July so there is some time left to use it.

Fitness fanatics can check out the Nike+ Running which has just been released for free into the Google Play store, it seems pretty Ok, I`m not sure what it can offer me at the moment over things like RunKeeper or My Tracks but I’ll give it a go and see how it goes.

Couch potatoes can check out eBroadcast a TV and Movie guide app for Android, they have the TV & Movie Guide Australia app for free or the TV & Movie Guide Australia Pro. The Pro version was at $2.99 but has dropped in price down to $1.99, it’s a fairly decent app, quite nicely designed and it does pretty well at finding local cinemas and displaying session times as well.

Now, things that aren`t really apps, in the Google Books store, Google are holding “The End of Tax Year Sale – Books for $2.99 or Less”. There are several good titles in there including including the Karl Pilkington book ‘An Idiot Abroad‘ for $2.99 or you can get Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame Smith for $1.99 and Google hasn’t forgotten you teenage vampire fiction fans can check out Turned (Book #1 in the Vampire Journals) by Morgan Rice for just $0.99.

Google 99¢ Movie Collection sale continues, check out the titles on offer and let us know how your experiences with it are, I had hit and miss in actually watching the movie I rented when the sale started, but let me know what your experiences are.

As usual if you see any good free apps or apps on sale then send them to us at tips[at]ausdroid dawt net or tweet me or one of the team.
