Hi, I’m Jason! I’ll be running the App Sales posts for a little while. I’m sure we’ll be great friends!

Google is still running a Father’s Day Book Sale – a selection of books are on sale now starting at $4.99. There’s also still a few remnants of the End of Summer Sale to be found with some good savings on a number of well-known apps.

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.

Today’s Apps

SwiftKey 3 (Phone)
Trial: SwiftKey 3 Phone Trial
SwiftKey needs little introduction. It’s one of the most popular keyboards for Android, featuring customisable layouts and themes and the ability to learn your typing style from Twitter, Facebook or your Gmail account. It’s not mentioned explicitly in the description, but this version is for phones. A tablet version is also available, but sadly isn’t on sale at the moment.
$0.99 – was $3.99

Trial: Vignette Demo
If you’re into phone photography, you can use Vignette to give your photos a unique feel. The current version offers 76 effects and 57 frames which you can mix and match. You’re sure to find something that takes your fancy!
$0.99 – was $2.99

Camera Zoom FX
Trial: N/A
One of the most popular camera apps for Android is on sale for 40% off. It’s not the cheapest we’ve seen, but for such a full-featured app it’s worth the price. A number of effects are built into the app, with add-on packs available for free on the Play store.
$2.74 – was $4.99

SpeakEasy – Italian and French
Trial: Italian, French
These SpeakEasy guides contain a large number of phrases with audio guides to help travellers deal with common needs in the local language. On sale at the moment we have French and Italian, and the developer also has Russian and Ukrainian guides available.
$1.99 each – was $3.99-$4.79

Today’s Games

Another World
Trial: N/A
The Amiga/PC classic is now on Android. You play Lester, a human who is catapulted into an alien world when an experiment goes wrong. You’ll meet an unlikely companion as you attempt to escape this strange alien world!
$2.54 – was $5.00

Homerun Battle 3D
Homerun Battle 3D Lite
As a kid I remember many long hours spent playing Baseball on my GameBoy – this is a big, bright, cartoony and over-the-top update. It’s not the first time we’ve seen it on sale recently, but Homerun Battle 3D is good fun, offering online 1-on-1 gameplay and standard Arcade and Training modes. You can do a lot worse for your dollar.
$0.99 – was $4.99

Update: Looks like Vignette’s price went back up just as this was posted. 🙁 It’s still neat, though!
