We were told last month that GTA: Vice City was coming soon to Android and now Rockstar has released a bit more information regarding the release of the popular game. GTA: Vice City is expected to drop into the Google Play Store on December 6th for $4.99(it’s also going to iOS on the same day).

Rockstar has promised the full experience of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, with several enhancements unique to the mobile platforms. There will be updated character models and lighting effects, new and more precise firing and targeting options and fully customisable control layout. Rockstar has also promised ‘native support for Retina display devices’ which I can only hope includes Retina quality Android devices.

The list of devices the game will be coming to initially has been supplied also so you can check if your device appears :
Android Phones: Motorola Razr, Razr Maxx, Razr Maxx HD, Motorola Atrix, Motorola Photon, Motorola Droid Bionic, HTC Rezound, HTC One X, HTC One S, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Sensation, HTC Droid Incredible 2, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Note 1 & 2, Samsung S2, Samsung Galaxy R, Sony Xperia Play, Sony Xperia S, P, T & TL, Sony Walkman Z Series Media Player, Samsung Galaxy S2, Samsung Galaxy S3, Google Nexus 4

Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, LG Optimus Pad, Medion Lifetab, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 / 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Sony Tablet P, Toshiba Thrive, HTC Flyer, Google Nexus 7, Google Nexus 10

Interestingly the Nexus 4 does not appear however the Nexus 10 does, I`ll just have to purchase it for the Nexus 10 and hope the Nexus 4 is added at a later date. I personally can’t wait for this, I’m a huge GTA Fan and this is the game that introduced one of my favourite features : Helicopters! Check it out on Google Play when it arrives next month.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
