While most of the recent phablet attention has been focused on the Samsung Galaxy Note II, a new leaked Jelly Bean update serves as a reminder that Samsung are still paying the original Galaxy Note N7000 plenty of attention behind the scenes.

SamMobile have released a leaked Jelly Bean 4.1.2 firmware update for the N7000. Sitting at build JZO54K, the leaked firmware is a Samsung internal test build, and according to SamMobile, is far from complete, with further updates expected to appear.

Some of the additions and enhancements found in the leaked Jelly Bean update are:

  • Android 4.1.2 – Build JZO54K
  • Project Butter
  • Multi-View (can also be disabled)
  • Page Buddy
  • Notification Panel can now be customized
  • New Additions in Notification Panel
  • Smart Rotation
  • New Samsung Keyboard
  • Samsung’s Cloud services
  • Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play Features
  • New Widgets From the Galaxy S III
  • 2 Home screen modes
  • New Notifications bar
  • Google Now

It’s worth noting however, that Samsung have yet to integrate S-Pen functionality into their Jelly Bean source, so obviously you won’t be able to use the S-Pen on this particular firmware.

It’s expected that Samsung will push out the official Jelly Bean update sometime in December or January.

The leaked firmware and flashing instructions can be found in the source link below.

The xxls7 leak (jelly bean for note) has S-pen enabled, so I can’t imagine that they removed it in this version. I’ve been on xxls7 for a week or two, and its great!

Hmm…I was just going off what SamMobile said regarding the S-Pen.

Ive installed it on my gfs phone…ls7…as there were too msny annoyances with cm10 for her…on ics it became known as the slow phone lol so she kept pinching my s3. Jb has definately improved with things like scrolling lag etc so itll be nice to see a final build… s-pen works a treat. Ls7 seems pretty polished imo
