After I got my Fitbit I tried to use the Fitbit application to track my calorie intake but I’ve found it more than lacking when it comes to a database of Australian foods so Will put me onto an app called Calorie Counter – MyFitnessPal which actually links to the Fitbit database.

The app actually has a social feature as well which allows you to link to friends using the application so you can motivate each other. The app is very easy to use although does require a fair bit of setup and an account with MyFitnessPal to work, but once you’re in you can start adding all those Aussie based foods like a serve of Weetbix straight away. It also allows you to add to the database if you find something that isn’t on their database quite easily with all the nutritional information that’s on the side of food items in Australia.

It’s worth doing and if you have a Fitbit it’s a great companion application so try it out. It’s free on Google Play but device compatability specifics are not available so you may want to just try to install it.

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.
