+ Sunday January 20th, 2019 Ausdroid » Mobiles » Details emerge on 4G enabled LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7

We saw the first leaks this morning about F Series phones the LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 in the form of some photos from @evleaks, but there are now some more details to go alongside the photos as well as some specifications, the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 will both be 4G LTE enabled and run Android 4.1.2, the difference in the units comes down to screen size, CPU and battery capacity at this stage.

First the lower end LG Optimus F5 Specifications :

  • 4.3 inch WVGA IPS screen
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB onboard Storage with microSD Card
  • 5MP Rear camera, 1.3MP Front camera
  • 4G LTE
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
  • 2,150 mAh battery

The slightly higher end LG Optimus L7 :

Both phones will run the custom LG OS based on Android 4.1.2 and are will carry the new LG software features such as QSlide and Live Zooming, QSlide allows users to run two apps full screen with one app running in a slightly transparent mode over the top of the other while Live Zooming allows users to zoom in on a section of video that is running. Other functions from the Optimus L Series such as QuickMemo, QTranslator, Video Wiz, Safety Care will also be present in the F Series phones.

There’s a heavy emphasis on the 4G in these two phones with Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company saying “With adoption of LTE expected to explode in 2013, we are sending a clear message to consumers with the Optimus F Series that LTE isn’t just for heavy content users and techies anymore. It’s for everyone.”

From the look of the initial picture both models will be available in Black and White, although the colours may be restricted to different regions. The F5 will launch first in Europe before rolling out globally, while the F7 will follow suit shortly after rolling out into selected markets, exact price and dates for launch will be rolled out in each region. More details will be forth coming at MWC next week when they are officially launched, however I have reached out to LG Australia to find out if there is any localised information regarding these two models.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
