Checking around Google Play today, there is a Cooking App focus being run, surprisingly there are Australian apps in there which is good to see – Woolworths, Australian Good Food Guide and Yahoo!7 Food have all made the list. Mostly they’re all free, however there are a couple of apps that are charging. Click on the Chef Bugdroid to head over and check the apps out.

This week Google Play Deal of the Week is Heart of the Valley by Cathryn Hein selling at $4.99 which appears to be half its usual price. I notice that there appears to be very little in the way of action/adventure or Sci-Fi books in the Google Play Books ‘Deal of the Week’ specials, Google please remedy this!

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.
