Coming this winter: redesigned Google Maps for Android

new-google-maps

Come this winter, it’s not just iOS that’s going to have the nicest looking Google Maps application, Android will finally get a slice of the key-lime pie. At Google I/O it has been announced that Google Maps is getting a redesign and a feature overhaul which will launch this winter.

The new Google Maps make it easier to find things happening around you with a new ‘explore’ function as well as built-in Google+ integration to find out what places your friend recommend you check out. Google Maps will now dynamically reroute your navigation whenever an incident or traffic build-up occurs, so that you can get to your destination with minimal disruption.
