LG officially announces the white Nexus 4 – launching globally over the next few weeks

White Nexus 4
The white variant of the Nexus 4 has just been announced by LG in Korea. Rather than a complete white device like the Galaxy S4, LG and Google have opted to go for a white back and sides while retaining the black front.

The handset which has been essentially the worst kept secret ever will retain the exact same specs of the original, offering a 4.7″ 1280-by-768 True HD IPS Plus display at 320ppi and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU with 2GB of RAM. No upgrade to internal memory was announced so it appears that the white Nexus 4 will still be available in 8GB and 16GB variants only.

“Nexus 4 set the standard for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean smartphones,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company. “Nexus 4 White delivers the same Google experience to consumers in a stylish and attractive color option.”

The white Nexus 4 will rollout globally to Asia, North America, Europe and the Middle East over the next few weeks but will be available in Hong Kong on May 29. It should remain the same price as the originals.

Will you be grabbing a Panda Nexus 4?

Dan is a die-hard Android fan. Some might even call him a lunatic. He's been an Android user since Android was a thing, and if there's a phone that's run Android, chances are he owns it (his Nexus collection is second-to-none) or has used it.

Dan's dedication to Ausdroid is without question, and he has represented us at some of the biggest international events in our industry including Google I/O, Mobile World Congress, CES and IFA.

You forgot to add that LG won’t produce any more Nexus devices after this as they want their skin for some stupid reason. just when I thought that ok I am happy with an LG phone they shoot themselves.

If there’s anything I’ve learnt from my white GNex, it is not to purchase a white plastic phone!

This design is pretty horrible but at least it brings hope for the new version of Android.

Hopefully this means a possible Nexus4 LTE bump is still a possibility at the android 4.3 release, rather than just – look it’s white, and runs 4.3

Sorry, review units have already gone out – it is actually, “look it’s white, and runs 4.2.2”. Same FCC identifier so no hope for official LTE at this stage either.

Too late, still a great performing phone sure, but better hardware is taking over.

Its still the best phone in its price range by far. Its also better than a lot of the stuff at the higher range.

I’ll agree there. My Nexus 4 flys. I even tested it today, loaded stuff faster then the S4.

I’m not a fan of white, it makes it look cheap……

White front / black back needs to die. Make this design travesty stop.

Yeah buzz…u got your fronts and backs, back to front. BTW I like it better cos the clean bezeless front stays the same…but then again, I like my all black nexus 4 even better
