ASUS at Computex 2013: MemoPad HD 7 — A Nexus 7 with a rear camera, vibrant colours

Next up from ASUS at Computex 2013 is the MemoPad HD 7. This is basically a Nexus 7-ish device that adds a 5MP rear facing camera and replaces the NVIDIA Tegra 3 CPU with an unnamed Cortex-A7 quad-core CPU. The display is a similar 1280×800 7-inch HD IPS panel that’s found in the Nexus 7. Another inclusion is stereo speakers.

There is a confirmed US launch of the device with pricing sitting at $149 for 16GB and $129 for 8GB. Both are Wi-Fi only.

So while details are sparse at the moment, an official press release should give us more information soon. Not launching in Australia, says ASUS.

Hopefully a micro sd card will make the 8gb version a steal at that price!
