When I first had my Palm Treo, the large screen allowed it to become a brilliant flashlight. The concept that I had a flashlight in my hand as long as I had my phone was actually kind of a mind blowing concept at the time and of course – there was an app for that 😉 .

Fast forward to todays world of App stores and there are a thousand apps that allow you to use either the flash on the back of your phone or the screen itself as a flashlight. But which one is the best? I have settled on the DashLight (Torch/Flashlight) which I use via a widget on my homescreen, but I still keep Tiny Flashlight + LED around for those rare occasions when I have a phone without an LED Flash – looking at you LG Optimus F5.

So now, over to you. Which App do you use for your flashlight/torch?

[app]com.spectrl.DashLight[/app] [app]com.devuni.flashlight[/app] Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.

TeslaLED. I remember a similar Palm app, pre active LCD display, that was a ‘mirror’ simply by painting the screen black so you could see your reflection in the glass.
