I normally have no times for Benchmarks, I’ve seen them fooled in the past by manufacturers who know exactly how to beat them or optimise their device to score highly but then their device in no way reflects the performance in real world usage. The recent Samsung controversy where they gamed a benchmark is further proof of this. But, my colleagues have decided that we should have a baseline. To that end I present Geekbench 2.

It’s a benchmarking app that hits all the points you’d expect and we hope that it gives you a baseline in reviews when we review something. You’ll see this rolled into our reviews from now on. At $0.99 it’s not what I call something I’d normally purchase but if you do use a lot of devices it may not be a bad idea to check it out, it’ll run on anything runnning Android 2.3.3 and upwards so check it out.

The app was not found in the store. 🙁

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.
