Todays app is a recommendation from Chris, who has found an app called Desktop Notifications. The app is basically something that feeds your Android device notifications through to an extension for your Firefox or Chrome Browsrer.

Setup is fairly easy. Install the Android App, you’ll be asked to allow the app to run, you’ll then be prompted to install a Chrome or Firefox extension on your desktop PC by sending an email with links to the Chrome Webstore and the Firefox Add-ons page. Next you enter a code – this step needs some fixing IMHO – which is a fairly long alpha-numeric code and then your device and browser are synced. You can send a test notification through to test it out and that’s about it.

On the desktop side, you can configure how long the notifications last for 3,5,7 seconds or close manually and you can enable an audible notification.

It’s a great little app/extension combo that’s pretty useful. Check it out.

Found a good deal on an app you’d like to share? Are you an Australian developer with an app you would like reviewed? Or have you found a most expensive app on the Play Store? Let me know! You can tweet me or email me.
