It’s Sunday, so let’s see what is going on in Google Play. Almost had a heart attack this morning when I opened a browser and saw the New Nexus 7 advertised – turns out the Play store is still defaulting to US in one of my browsers after the testing I did for the post on how to order a Chromecast from the US. But back to reality, it’s no here…yet.

So, what is in stock – Nexus 4, 7 and 10 are still there in hardware, with the Nexus 7 still offering free shipping. Might be time to drop those prices a bit to clear out old stock, we know a new one is on its way.

Movies – There’s a sale on movies to own from $6.99. Unfortunately they’re all the SD version, HD costs more like $8.99, which isn’t terrible, but could be better.

Music – Check out the Top Selling Albums. There’s no real value here, just a list of the top selling Albums on Google Play.

Apps – There’s a Play Picks App focus at the moment. Nothing terribly stand out here but worth a look.

Magazines – Good to see Google flogging the dead horse that is the Royal Baby News – they actually went to the trouble of doing a focus on Magazines featuring the Royal Baby.

Books – The 99c Book sale that has been running since last year is still going, time to freshen it up a bit Google. Of course there’s always the Google Play Books Deal of the week, which is The Sweetest Hallelujah by Elaine Hussey for $4.99
