Vodafone is today putting two new smartphones up, the HTC One Mini is now available to pre-order, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Cat 4 LTE is now available via Vodafone stores, Vodafone’s e-Store and Vodafone’s call centre.
Katie Turkal, General Manager of Devices at Vodafone says
We’re pleased to be able to offer our customers these two new impressive smartphones on our lightning-fast 4G network. The HTC One mini and the Samsung GALAXY S 4 with 4G Cat 4 are very welcome additions to our range because both allow our customers to access superfast data speeds. Not only do we have the fastest 4G data speeds across parts of Sydney and Melbourne*, we are proud to introduce the very first Cat 4 smartphone on our network
With Category 4 TLE offering theoretical download speeds of up to 150Mbps, a Galaxy S4 with a radio that supports these speeds on-board is quite an attractive idea. The Category 4 LTE Vodafone network is currently limited to Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane but Sydney-siders and Melbourne customers can still experience standard 4G speeds on the handset.
Hardware wise, the Galaxy S4 with Cat 4 LTE is almost identical to the standarad Galaxy S4, the phones both have the same 5″ Full HD Display with 441ppi, however the Galaxy S4 with Cat 4 LTE has the Snapdragon 800 CPU.
The second handset Vodafone has secured the – Stealth Black HTC One Mini, is a smaller version of their current flagship device – the HTC One – with a few changes to the hardware, namely the CPU, RAM and on-board storage have all been reduced in capacity or removed entirely, for example the phone has no NFC, IR Blaster or Optical Image Stabilisation(OIS) for the Ultra-Pixel Camera but offers a more compact size. On a software level the HTC One Mini still offers the Blinkfeed and Zoes of the Sense 5 OS that’s delivered with Android 4.2.
To pre-order the HTC One Mini, simply head over to the Vodafone Website to check out the details. The HTC One Mini will be available in-stores on the 4th of October.
