Sony hints Android 4.4 Kit Kat for Xperia SP, 4 additional devices under investigation for upgrade

It seems Xperia SP users are in for some Kit Kat Goodness, with Sony hinting that the device will get an upgrade to Android 4.4, according to an update to their Xperia Support site. Sony has also changed the software update status on an additional 4 Xperia devices to advise that they are under investigation for an upgrade to Android 4.4.

Ausdroid is Advertising Supported

The four additional Xperia devices which Sony are considering for a possible upgrade to Android 4.4 are the Xperia T, TX, V and ZR. With the Software Support site for each device now showing the following at the end of their software update schedules :

Of course this comes off the back of Sony confirming that the Xperia Z, Z Ultra and Xperia ZL will be seeing an upgrade to the latest Android 4.4 software sometime within the new year. Of course the timeframes are not certain as this does depend on your carriers ability to test and push out the new software quickly (which we all know they generally don’t do of course!).
